Dealing with Circumcision based on the word of God

         Now I want talk about circumcisions -the heart and the flesh.
         One guy I was debating said something to the effect if you convert and are not circumcised as an adult, then it is all right not to be circumcised. He said they are to be circumcised on the eighth day. He is one of those one verse for doctrine people when it suits his purpose, so to speak. I want him to explain to me why Abraham was circumcised when he was 99 years old and his boy was 13 years old. From the things he was saying to me, it looks likes he wants his legalism and some freedom too since he probably knows he will not get near as many converts if he tells some 20,30, or whatever age that they must be circumcised, God does not change his law or so he seems to think. If it was inportant enough for God to command Abraham and all the his children and men in his community to be circumcised then it gets confusing on what my "Hebrew friend" is telling me. I don't think he would like me calling him a Hebrew Chrisian. The ones that I deal with don't really care for the name Jesus Christ, which is the English name every knee will bow to. They prefer "Messiah, Yeshua, whatever", as long as they don't have to deal with Jesus Christ. I think of other cults such as the Jehovah's Witness and Roman Catholics, 7th Adventists, Mormons, etc. Jesus Christ is in their religion as he is in just about every religion in the world BUT he is NOT at the position he is supposed to be. He is an avatar, a really nice man, etc. I remember one Hebrew Christian lady I was talking to a few years back and she told me that God was going to talk to everybody in Hebrew at the end of time. I let her know I have a lot of problems with that, based o the word of God in Acts 2 God is going to speak to everyone in their own language. I THINK he can learn new languages quicker than we can since he is the creator of languages. Check out the tower of Babel in the bible.
         Let's read some of the word of God on this suhject.
         I think my Hebrew buddy might have been thinking about this verse when he was telling me that they are to be circumcised on the eighth day but he probly took it from the old testament since that is what he usually quotes from to me because the new covenant or testament does NOT line up with his beliefs.
Acts 7
8 And he gave him the covenant of circumcision: and so Abraham begat Isaac, and circumcised him the eighth day; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat the twelve patriarchs.
         But since he would like me using the old testament I will now.
Gen. 17
23 And Abraham took Ishmael his son, and all that were born in his house, and all that were bought with his money, every male among the men of Abraham's house; and circumcised the flesh of their foreskin in the selfsame day, as God had said unto him.
24 And Abraham was ninety years old and nine, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.
25 And Ishmael his son was thirteen years old, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.
26 In the selfsame day was Abraham circumcised, and Ishmael his son.
27 And all the men of his house, born in the house, and bought with money of the stranger, were circumcised with him.
         I THINK I can hear Abraham now, "God we are not 8 days old so let us out of this. " And God says, "NO Abraham, I do not change my laws because one of my really smart boys in the future will tell everyone that I can't change my laws so I am just making you do it for the fun of it even though I know you are not 8 days old so please don't tell anyone, they will think I can change my laws anytime I want. A little humor here for him.
Gal 5
6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
         Even the law of circumcision is gone now since it was a type of the real circumcision and that is a heart circumcision.
         God gave us hints of what circumcision was in its real meaning even in these chapters and verses
Lev 26
41 And that I also have walked contrary unto them, and have brought them into the land of their enemies; if then their uncircumcised hearts be humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity:
Duet 10
16 Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked.
Duet 30
6 And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.
Ezek 44
9 Thus saith the Lord GOD; No stranger, uncircumcised in heart, nor uncircumcised in flesh, shall enter into my sanctuary, of any stranger that is among the children of Israel.
         Here we see under the old covenant that they needed the type and the reality but when we get to the new covenant we see the type of the real circumcision was fulfilled with the heart circumcision and the circumcision of the flesh was done away with.
         I will repeat and stop at the new covenant one for now .
Gal 5

         The old and new testaments verify this fact.
I will be continuing on ths more in the very near future. Some of his people are getting really confused on this subject and when we come into the life of God/Jesus Christ we are under a much higher law and it is called the "law of love."
